Friday 31st August to Friday 14th September 2018

Age and glasses of wine should never be counted

Italian Proverb

Veneto is the romantic Northeastern region of Italy, home to fairytale Shakespearian towns, mountain resorts, breathtaking destinations across the countryside, charming towns in the Venice lagoon and spectacular views in the snowcapped Dolomite Mountains. We are authentic Veneto locals and we will help you discover the hidden Venetian treasures.

Our Plan

Day 1 - Friday 31st August 2018

Our meeting point is Padova. By private van we will travel to the Agriturismo where the doors of the ‘farmhouse’ will be opened by our hosts. The real Italian experience starts now!

You will have free time to settle.

We will start the evening with an 'aperitivo di benvenuto' before enjoying our first home made cooked dinner. Our friendly chef is well known in the region and amongst MPLCS Language Holiday participants of previous years for her mouth-watering dishes and is looking forward to spoiling us.

Buon Appetito!

Day 2 - Saturday 1st September 2018

After a delicious “Italian style” breakfast we will have our first Italian conversation. We will talk about interesting facts and learn some keywords about our destination Bassano del Grappa. If you are a grappa lover, or have never experienced the taste of it, visiting Bassano is your chance to find out all about grappa. After visiting the Grappa museum we will have the choice to taste the fragrant, clear, grape-based brandy.

We will wander around this picturesque town at the foot of the Alps and walk through its unique “Ponte degli Alpini”, a lovely old wooden covered bridge, symbol of the little idyllic town. Beautiful ceramics, dishes of honey, asparagus, mushrooms and more are on offer in the numerous little shops around old squares, narrow streets and walkways.

Back at the Agriturismo, we will have time to rest before another delactable home cooked dinner.

Day 3 - Sunday 2nd September 2018

After enjoying breakfast and our Italian conversation we will travel to Verona where a walking tour will take us to the Roman Arena, Romeo and Juliet's House, Lamberti Tower and Piazza delle Erbe.

You will have some free time to immerse yourself into the town, talking to the locals and practicing your Italian. Followed by an enjoyable dinner.

Day 4 - Monday 3rd September 2018

Today after breakfast we will visit Asolo, one of the most beautiful medieval “borgo” in Italy.

Our tour guide will help us to discover the “town of hundred horizons”, its anecdotes and curiosities. We will enjoy some local produce at lunchtime while practicing our Italian language skills.

After some time at leisure we will visit the Palladian Unesco Villa Barbaro followed by an evening meal.

Day 5 - Tuesday 4th September 2018

Today after delicious breakfast our day tour will take us to the Prosecco hills where we will learn all about DOCG Prosecco Superiore and taste a selection of wines and local produce for lunch.

Time at leisure before returning to the farmhouse where we will be welcomed back to enjoy a delightful dinner.

Day 6 - Wednesday 5th September 2018

Today after breakfast you can choose your own itinerary.

You might decide to venture into one of the nearby towns or simply rest at the Agriturismo.

Day 7 - Thursday 6th September 2018

Today, after breakfast we will travel to Padova.

We will walk through the historic center and its Piazzas experiencing their busy markets. We will admire the most important monuments in the heart of Padua. After some free time for lunch we will continue our exciting visit.

In the afternoon we will have a cooking class! Home made pasta, a “secondo piatto” with seasonal vegetables and a cake that we are going to enjoy for dinner with a well deserved glass of wine!

Day 9 - Saturday 8th September 2018

After breakfast our destination today is Arqua' Petrarca.

The famous poet Fancesco Petrarca lived the latter part of his life in the town. The town of Arqua Petrarca is also famous for producing good quality extra virgin olive oil, olives, chestnuts and honey.

We will enjoy discovering the town walking along the streets, talking to the locals and tasting some of the local produce like the famous 'giuggiole'.

Day 10 - Sunday 9th September 2018

After enjoying our breakfast we will travel to admire the spectacular Dolomites.

A Unesco world natural heritage site, Marmolada is the biggest glacier in the Dolomites area and because of its height (3.342m) and uniqueness it has the name "Regina delle Dolomiti" (Queen of the Dolomites).

You will have some time at leisure before traveling back to the Agriturismo for dinner.
